This Mother’s Day, give your mom a run for her money by making the entire day about her for a change. While every mom is different, we’ve come up with a few fool-proof ways to make her day a memorable one. And, if you are a mom spending Mother’s Day alone. That’s okay. We’ve got you covered.

Flowers and Breakfast
Start the day off on a beautiful note by surprising mom with a bouquet of her favorite flowers. Leave them in the kitchen to catch her eye when she walks in for the morning coffee you’ll have already prepared for her. When it comes to breakfast, you can go one of two ways: cook her favorite breakfast meal for her, or book a reservation to a brunch she never would’ve gone to otherwise. Either way, she won’t have to lift a finger – which is the most important part. And if we’re being honest, that’s the most important thing.

Treat Her or Yourself
Mother’s Day is the time to treat your mom (or yourself as a mom) to the things she wouldn’t take the time to do for herself on any other day. Is it her dream to watch all of the Oscar nominated films before the awards air? Plan the ultimate movie viewing day and invite her friends. Has it been over 6 months since her last Swedish massage? Book a full package for her at her favorite spa, with the works. Is she a master antique hunter? Then take her on the ultimate thrifting excursion. You’ll play chaperone and cart her to all of her favorite antique shops and even the ones she hasn’t had the time to check out yet. It’s important to leave the itinerary up to her, so long as she knows she has 100% of your attention. It’s Mother’s Day, after all, so you’re here to make her dream plans come true.
And, if you are a mom without plans for Mother’s Day, treat yourself. Daily self-care is very important. So, take this day to do something you always wanted to do. Or, take the day off and simply relax. Sometimes that is the ultimate treat.

Cook for Her
Team up with dad and siblings to orchestrate the ultimate 3 course dinner for mom. Pour her a glass of her favorite wine and fill the air with good old fashioned conversation while you cook for her. All she will have to do is relax. This list of recipes via Bon Appetit Magazine is the ultimate treasure trove of 5 star worthy meals your mom will love. Mother’s Day dinner is a great time to shower her with her gifts too, and if you’re still at a loss for what to get her this year – you might want to look at our Mother’s Day gift guide.

Mindful Classes
A great gift for the mom your love or yourself for Mother’s Day is the gift of mindfulness, self-care and wellness. Personal development, relaxation and self-love is something we should all practice a few minutes each day. Help your mom learn how to incorporate into her lifestyle. Take or treat her to a yoga, mediation, crystal, reiki or charka class as a way to show how much you love her, or learn it together. And, if she’s already a pro in this area, look for advance classes to help sharpen her skills.

Tastings and Flights
Ooh la la. What mom would not like a champagne flight on Mother’s Day?! This special day is the perfect day to find a new wine, beer or champagne that she falls in love it. Surprise her by creating a wine, beer or champagne tasting or flights for her at home. It’s a fun way to celeberate this holiday. Be creative. You can add on or two drinks that you know she would like to your tasting or flight. But, live on the edge and try something new! If one of them becomes her favorite wine, beer or champagne, it will be a day she will never forgot. If you don’t want to do this at home. That’s okay. There are many restaurants, wine bars and bars that have dinner tastings and flights. Cheers to that!
We can’t tell you exactly how your mom wants to spend her Mother’s Day. But what we can tell you with absolute certainty is that she wants to spend it with you.
