How to Reapply Your Sunscreen All Day Long

Now that summer is officially here, it’s crucial that we’re all wearing sunscreen every single day. Whether you’re having a workday by the window or tanning outside, it’s important to keep your skin protected all day long. The sun’s rays can damage your skin, causing signs of premature aging such as dark spots and wrinkles.

While initially applying sunscreen in the morning is an easy step to incorporate, reapplying it throughout the day can seem like quite the hassle. Especially if you wear a full face of makeup, you might be nervous to mess up your foundation and other facial makeup. Thankfully, there are several products that now make reapplying sunscreen throughout the day a piece of cake.

To keep your skin glowy, healthy and protected throughout the hot summer days, use these methods to reapply your sunscreen, even over makeup.

Use a good base

As mentioned, the first and most important step is applying a sunscreen in the first place. No matter how complex and luxurious your skincare routine may be, if it doesn’t include a regular sunscreen, then it is all going to waste. Be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 prior to applying your makeup in the morning. Apply it all over your face, but pay close attention to your forehead, nose, and upper cheekbones, as these areas are more sensitive to the sun.

Conceal with SPF

In the summertime, you often will want to switch out your thick, full-coverage foundation for a thinner, light-coverage tinted moisturizer. As you make this switch, look for a tinted moisturizer that includes SPF. This won’t replace your everyday moisturizer, but it will add more protection, and make it easier to reapply throughout the day. This is a great way to not have to compromise your makeup or your skin’s safety.

Use a setting spray with SPF

The perfect way to touch up without any thought, a setting spray is a great addition to your makeup routine that can protect your skin. Easy to toss in your bag to use throughout the day, or keep on your desk to use as you work from home. Especially as you sweat throughout the day, a cool setting spray with the bonus of SPF is a great way to give your skin a refresh. For an added bonus, keep your spray in the fridge overnight for an extra chill.

Use a powder product with SPF

Another way to still enjoy makeup and sun protection, add a powder that includes SPF to reapply throughout the day. Whether it’s a powder foundation or a setting powder with SPF, you can easily apply it to the skin with a compact or brush.

Reapplying throughout the day is crucial to keeping your skin youthful and glowing, but it doesn’t mean smearing off your makeup. Instead, use these products and methods to keep your skin protected throughout the hot summer days.
