If you’ve ever visited Miami, it’s likely you’ve heard of and visited Wynwood. The city’s bustling art and design district is a hub for all things culture and art, and with the addition of the following food spots – fine dining. We love the following three restaurants and bars for their eclectic design, artful dishes and cocktails and elegant, yet edgy ambiance.
Asian inspired restaurant, Kyu (pronounced like the letter Q), offers a dining experience you won’t want to miss. The restaurant is designed around a wood-fired grill where you can watch your food being cooked. Divided into handy little categories not unlike schools of art, the Kyu menu is chockfull of Japanese barbecue dishes large enough to share, there are few better places to decompress with friends over good food and better drinks.
The Italian restaurant boasts celebrity clientele and is a hallmark of the artsy Wynwood landscape. Not your typical Italian fare, owner and operator Joey Goldman takes pride in serving truly authentic Italian cuisine, from truffle topped rigatoni and meat sauce, to burrata caprese and their famous pizza. Their artfully curated wine list is the cherry on top, ensuring that every sip you take compliments your plate.
A restaurant and art gallery hybrid, Wynwood’s R House is the brain child of head chef and owner Rocco Carulli, whose travels around the globe inspired the restaurant’s eclectic menu and refreshing décor. From Ratatouille to Sweet Pea Falafel and Brazilian Moqueca, the R House menu is literally like eating around the world – with a twist.
The unique personalities of each of these restaurants make Miami’s hippest neighborhood the cultural scrapbook it is. So, next time you work up an appetite while gallery hopping or boutique hopping in the Wynwood area, know that good eats and better drinks are right around the corner. Cheers!
