With self-care being one of the biggest trends throughout 2019, 2020 is going to be all about wellness and mindfulness. Wellness trends come and go, so in 2020, strive to turn all wellness trends into consistent, regular practices. As you reflect on what went right and wrong throughout 2019, consider these events to guide you through the wellness practices you want to follow in the new year. If you need some ideas to get you started, though, we’ve compiled a list of wellness practices you can easily add to your daily routine this year.

Pick a word of the year and remain consistent

Many resolutions involve choosing a word of the year, but this year, be intentional with your word choice. Pick a word you can apply to your life every single day, as this will help you remain productive, accomplished, and resilient. Common words you can use daily include: abundance, achieve, grow, focus, gratitude, balance, calm, intentional, kind, humble, and more. Choose a word you can reflect on every morning and evening, allowing it to guide your actions and mindset throughout the year. Setting goals for yourself surrounding one centralized theme keep your mind and soul well-balanced, allowing you to grow with each day this year.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness has been a practice for ages, but with time, it has become more and more trendy. A great practice to add to your daily routine, mindfulness can be practiced in a variety of ways. Whether you choose to be mindful through meditation, prayer, journaling, coloring, or other practices, carving out time to be present, intentional, grateful, and restful can have a major impact on your mental health. Being more mindful and full of gratitude lifts your spirits and leaves you feeling happier and more at peace, so it is an excellent practice to follow in 2020. In 2020, expect to see more and more mindfulness-related apps stealing the show. Many apps provide free services for guided meditation, journaling, or simple breathing techniques.

CBD Products

2019 was a big year for CBD, but it is expected to grow even more in 2020. CBD is already found in various forms that are easily accessible, including oils, gummies, honey sticks, and beauty products. Some states, like California, are known for having complete aisles in markets full of CBD snacks and drinks, so we expect to see much more of that throughout the nation in 2020. CBD is a major addition to the wellness family, as it eases pain, insomnia, anxiety, inflammation, and more. Just a few milligrams of CBD can completely transform how someone feels, so it will certainly continue to grow in popularity this year. You can incorporate CBD into your daily routine by taking a few drops every morning to ease the anxieties of the day, then taking a few drops at night to help lull you to sleep.

Better Eating

As plant-based or simply more nutritional diets are rising in popularity, expect to see it explode in 2020. With more and more fast food chains adding plant-based menu items, it is becoming more normal to be healthy in American again. Taking care of your body via diet is one of the biggest, most important wellness practices you can follow. Expect to see many more healthy-alternatives in grocery stores, making it more accessible than ever to eat better.

Wellness trends can be a bit extreme at times, especially those most can’t afford. In 2020, if you can follow these four wellness practices, you’ll be set for a new year of a better you, inside and out.
